COULEELIGHT / B2B OEM & ODM
Custom Solar String Lights.
From Brief to Approval.
Build a private-label or customized solar string light range around your market, budget and launch schedule. Define the complete solar-powered set, compare customization options and agree what to approve before bulk supply.
For brands, importers, distributors & project buyers
Before you request samples
1. Choose the scope.
Branding only, platform changes or a development review?
2. Define the complete set.
Light string, solar control box, panel, battery and included parts.
3. Set the approval criteria.
Appearance, dimensions, controls, packaging and evidence for your market.
Your starting point: a market, quantity range and list of must-have features. Open questions are welcome.
Planning checklist. Project-specific deliverables and responsibilities are agreed with the quotation.
01 / CHOOSE YOUR CUSTOMIZATION PATH
Choose the right OEM / ODM path.
| Decision | Private label | Platform customization | Development review |
|---|---|---|---|
| Best starting point | An existing model that fits your requirements | A suitable platform that needs selected adjustments | A requirement outside the available platform |
| Changes to discuss | Logo, labels, manuals and retail packaging | String layout, supported controls, accessories and compatible power options | Electronics, structural design or tooling, subject to feasibility review |
| What to send | Market, channel, model preference, quantity and brand assets | Must-have features, dimensions, layout and quantity range | Functional brief or drawing, constraints, forecast volume and launch target |
| Confirm before proceeding | Branding methods, packaging minimums, artwork proof and model identity | Supported options, sample scope, cost and timing implications | Feasibility, development scope, charges, verification and approval milestones |
Not sure which path fits? Send your must-have features and target quantity. We can discuss the simplest suitable starting point.
02 / DEFINE YOUR PRODUCT
Define your custom solar string light specification.
Start with the look you want, then define how the complete set should work. Use the worksheet below to identify essential features and open questions. Available changes depend on the selected platform.
Choose the look. Confirm the complete system.
Have an S14, G40, G50 or C7 style in mind? Send the code with a product photo or drawing and the required bulb dimensions. Confirm the base or socket, replaceability, voltage and power separately; appearance alone does not establish compatibility.

Elongated bulb-style string
Compare bulb profile, socket construction and hanging details.

Globe-style string
Compare globe appearance and the parts included with the set.
Considering COB lighting? COB (chip-on-board) describes the LED construction, rather than a bulb shape. Specify the intended light effect, format, length and electrical load so the solar control box, panel and battery can be reviewed together.
Images are appearance references, not a dimensioned comparison or a specification for every model. Confirm the final configuration and included accessories with your quotation and sample.
| Brief area | Your input | Specification to confirm |
|---|---|---|
| Light string | Bulb style, light color, lit length, lead cable and spacing | Dimensioned layout and agreed measurement convention |
| Solar power system | Light load, panel placement and required runtime / mode | Matched control box, panel and battery; ratings and test conditions |
| Controls & installation | Switch access, timers, remote, mounts and accessories | Function list, included parts and installation guidance |
| Brand & packaging | Logo, languages, sales channel, barcodes and carton needs | Artwork proof, packing list and packaging revision |
A useful layout identifies the panel-to-controller cable, lead cable to the first light, illuminated run, light-point spacing and end connection. Record these separately instead of using one ambiguous “total length”.
03 / UNDERSTAND COST & TIMING
Understand MOQ, cost and lead time.
01
What shapes MOQ & price
The complete set, order volume, packaging minimums and customization scope affect the quotation. Ask for standard and customized alternatives, with sample costs and any setup or tooling charges identified separately.
02
What shapes the schedule
Model availability, artwork revisions, custom components, sample approval and any additional verification influence timing. Share your target launch date early so the steps can be reviewed against it.
03
What to settle in writing
Agree the configuration, included parts, packaging, commercial terms and approval milestones. Production timing should be confirmed against the final scope and required approvals, rather than a generic catalog estimate.
MOQ, sample availability, charges and lead time are quoted for your selected configuration. A control-box-only quotation is different from a complete solar string light program.
04 / SAMPLE TO BULK SUPPLY
Approve samples and prepare for bulk supply.
01
Scope review
Document to review: selected starting platform, standard options, proposed changes and open questions.
Buyer decision: which features are essential and which can remain optional.
02
Sample review
Document to review: sample configuration and a checklist for dimensions, light effect, controls and complete-system operation.
Buyer decision: approve, revise or request further checks.
03
Production approval
Document to review: approved model and component configuration, artwork, packing list, evidence scope and acceptance criteria.
Buyer decision: approve the final revision before bulk supply.
04
Repeat-order review
Document to review: approved reference, order specification and any proposed component or artwork changes.
Buyer decision: confirm that the repeat order follows the reference or approve the documented changes.
What an approval record should identify
Product identity
Model / SKU and specification revision
Complete configuration
Light string, controller, panel, battery and included parts
Approval references
Sample reference, artwork and packaging revision
Evidence & acceptance
Applicable documents, test scope and agreed inspection criteria
Illustrative document checklist, not a test report or a record of a completed customer project.
05 / PRODUCT & COMPLIANCE EVIDENCE
Link the evidence
to your final configuration.
Relevant Couleelight products meet applicable CE, FCC and RoHS requirements. For an OEM program, the useful next step is to match the supporting documents to the exact model, configuration and destination market.
Build a useful product document pack
Product specification: Light string, solar control box, panel, battery, electrical interface and included accessories.
Compliance documents: Request the applicable declarations and test reports, with model identification and scope. Review any proposed design change against that evidence.
Performance & approval: Runtime test conditions, applicable enclosure ratings, approved sample and packaging revision. A rating for one enclosure does not establish the rating of the entire set.
06 / OEM BUYER QUESTIONS
Custom solar string lights: buyer FAQs
Answers to common questions from brands, importers and wholesale buyers planning custom solar string lights.
Can I start with private labeling rather than a new design?
Yes. Discuss branding and packaging for a suitable existing model first. If your brief also changes the light string, controls or power system, we review those changes separately. The final options and minimum quantities are confirmed in the quotation.
What are the MOQ and lead time for custom solar string lights?
They depend on the complete set, order volume, packaging and extent of customization. Share your quantity range and launch date. We can then discuss model availability, sample steps and the approvals that affect production timing.
Can you match a solar control box to my existing light string?
We can review a solar control box for your existing light string. Send its voltage, total power or current, connector and polarity details, required lighting modes and a product photo or specification. Bulb style codes such as S14, G40, G50 or C7 do not establish electrical compatibility. A matching connector alone is also insufficient; confirm complete-system operation with the selected control box, panel and battery.
How do I approve samples and keep repeat orders consistent?
Review a sample against a written specification, including dimensions, light effect, controls, included parts and packaging. Keep the approved sample and revision record. Agree inspection criteria and a review process for proposed changes before bulk supply.
Are CE, FCC and RoHS documents available for OEM projects?
Relevant Couleelight products meet the applicable CE, FCC and RoHS requirements. Request documents for the selected model and market, and confirm how your branding or configuration changes affect the documentation. The scope should match the final product.
What should I send if my project is still at an early stage?
Start with your target market, sales channel, approximate quantity and preferred light style. Add must-have features, packaging needs and target launch timing if known. A product link or a simple layout description is useful; you do not need a finished engineering brief to start the conversation.
07 / SHARE YOUR PROJECT
Let’s shape your
solar string light program.
Tell us what you plan to sell or install, where it will be used and which features matter most. We can then discuss a suitable configuration, the customization scope and the next steps for quotation and samples.
